We are melting away up here and excited about spring….it’s finally in the air!
So happy to have spotted day lilies popping up, but still aways to go!
April is a quiet time in Woodstock, so we’ll probably be closed mid week for much of the month…call ahead if you are coming through town.
Lots of exciting new summer merchandise will be arriving in May and June…new woven baskets, bags, sarongs, summer tunics, more jasmine plants, panama hats and much more!
and the Jasmine plants have finally arrived! They are a bit later than usual this year, because of the cold temperatures we had in February (they can’t be shipped if it’s too cold). But we have them now and they are in full bloom, with their delicious scent filling the store!
We also recently got in a few other springtime items: French Market Baskets, and a huge selection of colorful, lightweight, cotton scarves!
And on a more wintery note, since it is not actually spring yet, we do still have a selection of winter scarves and hats and some great fingerless mittens…all 40% off!!
Another great Valentines Day gift just arrived at Arjuna! We now have handmade, fair trade, soapstone hearts made in southwest Kenya. The company that makes these hearts was started by a woman names Pauline Ntombura, the daughter of a tribal chief in a village called Kisii. The company provides jobs for about 800 people (more than half women) who can now afford housing, education, and basic healthcare. The hearts are made from hand-mined soapstone, and are carved by hand using saws, chisels and files.
In addition, we now have a great selection of one-of-a-kind Kirigami Hearts made in Vermont by Cynthia Emerlye of Emerlye Arts. They look beautiful hanging in our sunny window!
Love is in the air at Arjuna!! Beautiful “La Vie Parisienne” jewelry from France just arrived and we are patiently waiting for the temps to go up so we can receive our jasmine plants!!
We will be closed tomorrow, February 2nd, due to weather, but snow storms galore won’t stop LOVE!!! Stop by later in the week to say hello and check out Valentine’s Day selection.
